Utilizing STIR/SHAKEN in QwikDial
Want a Demo?Why Conversations Matter
Consumers no longer trust phone calls due to
rising robocalls and call spoofing. Phone companies, both landlines and wireless, are starting to offer free tools to consumers to provide call blocking and spam alerts solutions. Legitimate business calls to consumers are being caught in the crossfire translating into an additional 20% drop in calls connected to consumers.
How can Enterprises manage this type of block? How do businesses make sure they can contact and reach their consumers? To combat this problem, the
FCC has mandated that both originating and terminating voice service providers implement
STIR/SHAKEN - A Caller ID authentication framework in their networks by
June 30, 2021.
DAKCS QwikDial Contact Solution has the ability to mitigate the chances of calls being blocked or labeled as "Spam" or "Scam" inappropriately by utilizing STIR/SHAKEN. Using STIR/SHAKEN, the originating carrier queries a secure Identity Authentication Service to obtain a SHAKEN signature that is then embedded in the calls placed using this authenticated number.
Our solution allows you to:
- Register your phone numbers in the authentication framework
- Manage how your brand appears and displays
- Improve your contact rates
Utilizing STIR/SHAKEN in QwikDial
All Direct Inward Dial (DID) purchased from this point forward are automatically registered in our provider’s database and will be signed for all outgoing calls.
To purchase a DID or to verify STIR/SHAKEN registration, as a QwikDial customer, you can send a request to inside-sales@dakcs.com to get phone numbers on the registered list. Once registered, these numbers will be available to you in the drop-down menu in the campaign edit screen.
PLEASE NOTE: If you rotate, expire, stop using, or retire any phone number(s), please send a request to inside-sales@dakcs.com so that we can unregister the provided phone number(s) with STIR/SHAKEN and remove them from QwikDial. What does STIR/SHAKEN mean?
STIR/SHAKEN are acronyms for the Secure Telephone Identity Revisited (STIR) and Signa-ture-based Handling of Asserted Information Using toKENs (SHAKEN) standards. This means that calls traveling through interconnected phone networks would have their caller ID "signed" as legitimate by originating carriers and validated by other carriers before reaching consumers.
STIR/SHAKEN digitally validates the handoff of calls passing through the complex web of networks, allowing the phone company of the consumer receiving the call to verify that a call is, in fact, from the number displayed on the Caller ID.
